The Atlanta Falcons failed to get the job done against an injury-riddled San Francisco 49ers team on Sunday night. After falling to 3-3 on the season, they will have to attempt to put the pieces back together when they host the Miami Dolphins next Sunday.
Before we look ahead of to Week 8, though, let’s recap what happened in the Falcons’ 20-10 loss to the 49ers. Atlanta controlled the game in the first half before making some crucial mistakes late in the first half that cost the team points and gave the 49ers life.

Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. led the offense with 241 passing yards, one touchdown and one fumble lost. Aside from some big passes, Atlanta was unable to do much with the football against a stingy San Francisco defense.
Despite some key errors, the Falcons managed to score a touchdown to make it a three-point game in the second half before the 49ers sealed the win with a fourth-quarter touchdown run by Christian McCaffrey. The All-Pro running back rushed for 129 yards while Bijan Robinson totaled just 40 rushing yards in Week 7
