Bill Speros writes: “The on-again, off-again, often-injured 49ers were on again Sunday night. Christian McCaffrey stacked 200 total yards from scrimmage in San Francisco’s 20-10 over Atlanta. CMC ran for 129 of those yards and scored 2 TDs. Expect that to be the 49ers’ game plan until further notice. The Texans came off the bye Monday night but had yet to beat a team with a winning record before facing Seattle.”
The site’s formula predicts that the Texans will win the NFL Week 8 game against the 49ers.
ESPN: Texans have a 57.2% chance to beat 49ers on Sunday
The site gives the 49ers a 42.4% shot at winning the NFL Week 8 game, with the remaining percentage accounting for a tie.
Dimers: 49ers 23, Texans 21
It writes: “After extensive simulations, our model gives the 49ers a win probability of 59%, while the Texans have a win probability of 41%.”
Sportsnaut: San Francisco 49ers 20, Houston Texans 17
Matt Johnson writes: “We always love matchups between a defensive-minded head coach versus his former team, especially since this is DeMeco Ryans vs. Kyle Shanahan. The Houston Texans’ defense has been excellent this season versus the pass, and that trend will probably continue Sunday, regardless of who is starting at quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. What Shanahan will do is feed Christian McCaffrey against a defense that is below average versus the run. Between that and Houston’s issues providing C.J. Stroud with even a few seconds in a clean pocket, we think San Francisco pulls this one out in Texas.”
