The NFC West didn’t see their Week 7 action end until late Monday night, as the Seattle Seahawks played the final game of the week against the Houston Texans. Nothing changed in the standings, as three of the teams won their games, while the Arizona Cardinals lost their fifth consecutive game and remained in last place.

Entering Week 8, three teams are 5-2 and the Cardinals are 2-5.

Let’s have a look at the standings in the NFC West, what happened in Week 7 and what is on the schedule in Week 8.

NFC West standings in Week 8

San Francisco 49ers, 5-2 (3-0 division, 5-1 conference)

Seattle Seahawks, 5-2 (1-1 division, 2-2 conference)

Arizona Cardinals, 2-5 (0-2 division, 2-3 conference)

The 49ers currently hold a head-to-head tiebreaker over everyone in the division, they have the best division record and the best conference record, and they are doing it with scores of injuries.

What happened in the NFC West in Week 7?

Rams 35, Jaguars 7

In the last London game of the year, Matthew Stafford threw five touchdown passes, three to Davante Adams, as they played the Jags without receiver Puka Nacua.

Packers 27, Cardinals 23

Jacoby Brissett threw two touchdown passes in his second start filling in for an injured Kyler Murray, but the defense allowed 14 fourth-quarter points and the Cardinals lost for the fifth straight week.

Brissett and the Cardinals went 0-for-2 on third down and 0-for-2 on fourth down in their final two possessions.

49ers 20, Falcons 10

Playing on Sunday Night Football, it was all Christian McCaffrey for the Niners. He was the game’s leading rusher with 127 yards and two touchdowns, and he was the game’s leading receiver with seven catches for 72 yards, totaling 199 yards from scrimmage and two scores. San Francisco’s defense held Falcons running back Bijan Robinson to only 40 yards rushing.

Seahawks 27, Texans 19

The Seahawks survived four turnovers, holding the Texans to 254 yards and 2-for-15 on third down. Running back Zach Charbonnet scored twice and receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba had eight catches for 123 yards and a touchdown.

The 49ers will be the only team in action in the NFC West this week. The Cardinals, Rams and Seahawks are all on their bye.
