The Green Bay Packers opened as slight betting favorites over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12 of the 2024 season.
Per odds at BetMGM, the Packers are 2.5-point home favorites over the 49ers for Sunday. The over/under is set at 48.0 points.
If the line holds, Sunday will be the first time the 49ers are underdogs all season. They were betting favorites in their first 10 games of 2024.
The Packers are 5-1 straight up as favorites this season.
Both teams are coming off underwhelming performances against division rivals. The Packers escaped with a one-point win over the Chicago Bears (as 6.0-point favorites) thanks to a blocked field goal as time expired, while the 49ers gave up a go-ahead touchdown with 12 seconds to go and lost to the Seattle Seahawks (as 6.0-point favorites).
At 7-3, the Packers are in a terrific playoff position. At 5-5, the 49ers desperately need a win.
The game — a rematch of last year’s NFC Divisional Round — will be played at Lambeau Field at 3:25 p.m. CST on Sunday.
While 3-1 straight up over the last four games, the Packers have failed to cover the spread in all four games and are currently 4-6 against the spread this season. Also, the under has hit in four of the last six Packers games.
The 49ers haven’t been much better against the spread, losing three of the last four. And like the Packers, the under has hit in four of the last six 49ers games.
