GREEN BAY – Our Green Bay Packers coverage team predicts the outcome of Sunday’s Week 12 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Pete Dougherty
This is a big game between two teams with a lot to play for and that know each other well. Matt LaFleur is 2-4 against his mentor, Kyle Shanahan, with three of those losses coming in the playoffs, including last season. The big wild card is injuries. The Packers very well might not have cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee), and their pass defense is noticeably worse when he’s not on the field. But the 49ers very well might not have Nick Bosa (hip), who couldn’t finish last week’s game against Seattle. If he can’t go Sunday it’s huge. According to ESPN stats and info, the 49ers’ pressure and sack rates plummet from when Bosa is on the field (33% and 8%) to when he’s not (18% and 2%). The guess here is Bosa doesn’t play and the Packers squeak out the win against the desperate but banged up 49ers. Packers 27, 49ers 21
