Romeo Doubs injured on pass to end zone
Emmett Prosser
On third-and-2 from the 18, Love throws to the end zone for Doubs in a bit of a crowd. While there is a flag for pass interference, Doubs stays down after the incompletion and appears to be injured on the play after his head hit the ground. Doubs left the field and went into the medical tent.

Emmett Prosser

Two plays later, on third-and-8, Allen throws a bit high through Samuel’s hands and Xavier McKinney intercepts yet another pass, returning it to the 49ers 26.

Packers stop 49ers on fourth down after penalty on long kick return
Emmett Prosser
An 87-yard return by Debo Samuel on the opening play of the second half is wiped out by a holding call. San Francisco stars first and 10 from their own 21. On 2nd and 5 after a Packers defensive holding penalty on Van Ness, McCaffrey runs up the middle for a first down. Two plays later Jordan Mason runs 16 yards for another first down at the Packers’ 47. On 3rd and 8, Allen scrambles six yards to set up a 4th and 2. The 49ers go for it and Allen throws too high for McCaffrey.

Dropped pass by Watson keeps the score at 17-7 at half
Emmett Prosser
The Packers start from the 30 with about a minute to play and Jacobs goes to work again with 20 yards in two carries. But Watson drops a sure touchdown pass after Love goes for it all on the next play. Love throws deep and incomplete to Melton on the next play and then deep again in double coverage to Watson for another incompletion. That forces a punt in the closing seconds of the half as the dropped pass by Watson costs the Packers points.

Kittle caps 85-yard drive with 49ers’ first points to make it 17-7 Packers
Emmett Prosser
Another pre-snap penalty on 3rd and 2 puts the 49ers in danger of not picking up a first down again, but Allen finds McCaffery at the sticks to move the chains. A screen to Debo Samuel then goes for 21 yards and the 49ers are suddenly moving the ball. On 2nd and 8 from the Jennings makes the catch but he’s a yard short of the first down, and then another pre-snap flag on the Niners forces a 3rd and 6 at the Green Bay 14 at the 2-minute warning. Allen finds Kittle on another short out route for 10 yards and a first down. A 1-yard run and an incomplete pass set up another 3rd down, but Kittle goes up high to bring down Allen’s high throw in the end zone and the 49ers make it 17-7 with 1:02 left in the half.

Jacobs’ TD gives Packers 17-0 lead
Emmett Prosser
An end-around by Bo Melton produces five yards, but Jacobs is stopped on second down and a false start sets up a third-and-long from the 29. Love hits Romeo Doubs down the middle for 29 yards and the Packers are back in business at the 49ers 43.
On third-and-5, the Packers call timeout and a quick slant throw by Love to Doubs beats the linebacker for 10 yards and a first down. The 49ers force another third-and-long and Love and Doubs convert again in the middle of the field for 15 yards and a first down at the 13.
Two plays later, the ball is intercepted in the end zone, but it’s a free play as there are offsetting penalties. The 49ers are then flagged for 12 men on the field, setting up second-and-2 at the 5. Two carries by Jacobs are enough to get in the end zone for a 17-0 lead.

Packers have dominant first quarter; 49ers still don’t have a first down
Emmett Prosser
After one quarter, the Packers have 126 yards of total offense and the 49ers have eight yards, having run only three plays. The first play of the 49ers’ second drive is a holding penalty, setting up a first-and-20 at the 20. As the second quarter begins, a short pass to Christian McCaffery sets up second-and-long. Quay Walker drops an interception on the next play and Allen throws complete to Kittle on third down, but well short of the marker. After a 45-yard punt and a 9-yard return, the Packers start at their own 29.

After a nine-yard gain on Brandon Allen’s shovel pass to George Kittle, a false start penalty takes the 49ers out of second-and-short and they’re eventually forced to punt. After a 46-yard boot, the Packers take over at their own 19.

Packers take early lead on Tucker Kraft’s 11-yard TD
Emmett Prosser
The Packers start from their 33 after a 21-yard return and get into 49ers territory quickly with the help of two big running plays by Josh Jacobs, one for 18 yards and another for 10.
On second-and-10 from the SF 37, a short pass to Jayden Reed from Jordan Love sets up a third-and-4. Reed goes to the other side of the field and catches a 6-yard pass for a first down. Jacobs picks up another nine yards and now has 39 yards on the drive. On third-and-1, Jacobs gets a break and Emmanuel Wilson picks up the first down at the 14.
A holding call on Elgton Jenkins wipes out a 4-yard gain by Christian Watson on a jet sweep, setting up a first-and-20 from the 24. Reed gets most of it back after a 13-yard reception, setting up a second-and-7. Love throws a sidearm middle screen to tight end Tucker Kraft, who rumbles 11 yards into the end zone for a touchdown.

Jaire Alexander, Edgerrin Cooper inactive for Packers vs. 49ers, who are without Brock Purdy, Nick Bosa
Emmett Prosser
The Packers will be without cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee) and rookie linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring), who were ruled out on Friday’s injury report. While not ideal, their absences are comparatively light damage to their roster.
For the 49ers, quarterback Brock Purdy (throwing shoulder) and defensive end Nick Bosa (hip/oblique) are inactive. Both were ruled out Friday, meaning the Packers had a full day to prepare for the absence of two key starters. The 49ers also will be without starting cornerback Charvarius Ward, who was ruled out Friday because of a personal matter.

Packers injury report
Emmett Prosser
Edgerrin Cooper and Jaire Alexander will not play in Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, per the Green Bay Packers Friday injury report.
Cooper, a rookie linebacker, suffered a hamstring injury in practice Wednesday and missed the past two days. LaFleur said he doesn’t feel it will be a lingering issue.
“There is obviously concern going into next week being a short week,” LaFleur said. “But I don’t think it’s going to be anything too long term.”
Alexander, a veteran cornerback, also missed practice Friday.

Packers vs 49ers predictions
Emmett Prosser
Our Green Bay Packers coverage team predicts the outcome of Sunday’s Week 12 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Pete Dougherty
This is a big game between two teams with a lot to play for and that know each other well. Matt LaFleur is 2-4 against his mentor, Kyle Shanahan, with three of those losses coming in the playoffs, including last season. The big wild card is injuries. The Packers very well might not have cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee), and their pass defense is noticeably worse when he’s not on the field. But the 49ers very well might not have Nick Bosa (hip), who couldn’t finish last week’s game against Seattle. If he can’t go Sunday it’s huge. According to ESPN stats and info, the 49ers’ pressure and sack rates plummet from when Bosa is on the field (33% and 8%) to when he’s not (18% and 2%). The guess here is Bosa doesn’t play and the Packers squeak out the win against the desperate but banged up 49ers. Packers 27, 49ers 21

Tom Silverstein
This was the time the Packers got hot last year and, with a pair of home games against warm-weather teams before they play Detroit, they have a chance to make a statement. I thought the 49ers were going to be dominant again this year but when you lose a star receiver (Brandon Aiyuk), your stud tight end (George Kittle) is banged up and you might not have quarterback Brock Purdy and pass rusher Nick Bosa in a game you absolutely need to stay in the playoff race, it’s just not meant to be. The Packers have to treat the 49ers like the struggling team they are and try to send them home with a convincing defeat. The way the Packers are playing, they might not have it in them, but they have the health and motivation to show everyone who’s boss. Health is everything in the NFL and the Packers are in way better shape than the 49ers. It should show. Packers 37, 49ers 20
