A popular destination in recent years for Oregon Ducks players in the NFL has been with the San Francisco 49ers. Since 2015, the 49ers have drafted former Oregon defensive tackle Arik Armstead, defensive end DeForest Buckner, and defensive back Deommodore Lenoir.
All three have had very successful stints with the 49ers; Buckner and Armstead before moving on to their new destinations and Lenoir who just signed a contract extension to stay in San Francisco.
Two of Oregon’s top prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft class are defensive tackle Derrick Harmon and offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr. Per NFL Mock Draft Database, both Harmon and Conerly Jr. are projected as either late first to early second round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The 49ers have 11 picks in the upcoming draft and need to bulk up in the trenches. Will they pick another Duck with an early round pick?

The San Francisco 49ers had a big problem on each side on the line last season. Far too often, the 49ers struggled in their pass protection of quarterback Brock Purdy and stopping the run/creating quarterback pressures on the other side of the ball. With 11 picks in this year’s draft and having not made any splashes in free agency, the 49ers will have to prioritize these positions in the draft.
Derrick Harmon and Josh Conerly Jr. each fit the mold of what the 49ers need. With where the 49ers first and second round picks are, it is a real possibility they get one if not both of these Ducks. The 49ers have the No. 11 overall pick in the first round and then the No. 43 overall pick in the second round.
It would be unlikely for them to reach at No. 11, but if they decided to trade back in the first round it could line up for them to take one of the two in the 20’s of picks.

It has been a chaotic offseason for the 49ers. San Francisco has seen key contributors from the past few years go out the door and they have not got a lot in return. This was kicked off with the 49ers trading wide receiver Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders for a fifth round 2025 draft pick.
Following that, the 49ers did not resign linebacker Dre Greenlaw, safety Talanoa Hufanga, offensive lineman Aaron Banks, defensive lineman Javon Hargrave, and cornerback Chavarius Ward. All of these players were starters at some point during their run of three straight years making the NFC Championship game and Super Bowl from 2021 through 2023. Now, the 49ers are turning the page and retooling their roster for the future.
