Kittle’s new deal with the 49ers is worth $19.1 million per year
Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride, when he signed his contract extension worth $76 million for four years, he became the highest-paid tight end in NFL history. That title didn’t last long.
The San Francisco 49ers, one of the Cardinals’ NFC West rivals, and tight end George Kittle agreed to a deal that tops that.
McBride’s extension was four years for $76 million, an average of $19 million per year with $43 million guarantees and $32.5 million guaranteed at signing.
Kittle’s extension is four years worth $76.4 million, averaging $19.1 million per year, just topping McBride’s. However, with $40 million guaranteed, it falls short of McBride’s $43 million in guarantees.
Kittle enters his ninth NFL season, all with the 49ers. He wants to finish his career with them. He should become the 52nd member of the 10-year club for the Niners, marking those who have played at least 10 consecutive seasons for the them.
Kittle has had four 1,000-yard receiving seasons in his career and has done it each of the last two seasons. In 2024, he had 78 receptions for 1,106 yards and eight touchdowns.
The Cardinals will be seeing the 31-year-old tight end a few more times as a divisional rival.
