The Kansas City Chiefs have added new faces to their offensive line this offseason, with the most recent being first-round draft pick Josh Simmons. A former Pro Bowl offensive lineman for the team last season is reportedly making his way to a new team in 2025.

According to the AMDG Sports agency, Former Chiefs offensive lineman D.J. Humphries is signing a deal with the San Francisco 49ers. The veteran left tackle will likely be the new replacement for Jaylon Moore, who signed with the Chiefs at the start of free agency. Humphries played briefly in Kansas City after being signed late in the season to help solidify the starting left tackle position, but was slowed by a hamstring injury in his first start.

Before joining the Chiefs last season, Humphries spent nine years with the Arizona Cardinals. He earned a Pro Bowl selection during his time in Arizona and established a reputation as a reliable pass protector with Kansas City, although he is expected to see a limited supply of playing time in 2024.

Kansas City dealt with a revolving door of players at starting left tackle last season, with Wanya Morris, Kingsley Suamataia, and eventually Joe Thuney playing the role along with Humphries. The latest moves are expected to establish consistency with the position moving forward in 2025.
