Ranking the 4 backup RB in the NF West in 2025

See how the four backup RBs in the NFC West stack up against each other entering the 2025 season.

It is the time of the offseason, as we have done for years here on Cards Wire, where we go through each position and rank players and position groups in the NFC West. We continue by looking at the four starting primary backup running backs for the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.

All four guys are the same as how the season ended last year.

Let’s see how they stack up against one another.

1. Isaac Guerendo, 49ers

Guerendo was back on the depth chart but ended up as a starter. He had games with 99, 85 and 78 yards. While of the four backups in the division, he is the one who would probably make the worst RB1, he is a perfect complement to Christian McCaffrey.

2. Zach Charbonnet, Seahawks

He started six games last season have had over 50 yards in five of them, including one game of 134 and another with 91. He also had 42 receptions for 340 yards, gaining a total of 909 yards from scrimmage with nine total touchdowns.

Benson expects a bigger role in his second season. He started slowly and looked like a rookie. By the end of the year, he rushed for 291 yards and a touchdown, averaging 4.6 yards per attempt. He believes he and James Conner can pair up as a two RB1s in the offense. He has the makings of a big play back who could also be a workhorse, but he hasn’t accomplished yet what Charbonnet has.

4. Blake Corum, Rams

In limited action, he had 207 yards on 3.7 yards per carry. He was not particularly efficient and seems to have the least upside of the four division backups.
